It is narrow like a mountain path.
It climbs up, or goes down, and is seemingly never level.
It climbs up, or goes down, and is seemingly never level.
In life there are obstacles in the way, just like the boulders on a mountain path.
In the beginning when life first starts there are trees to shade us from the blinding light and shivering cold that surround us.
Those trees are like the people around us who care for us when we are young.

Those trees are like the people around us who care for us when we are young.
After a certain time on the path of life we climb into ever more sparse foliage.
Eventually we come to the point where we are exposed to the natural elements in the open tundra of life.
As we continue on towards our heavenly destination in the clouds, there comes a time when we look back.

As we continue on towards our heavenly destination in the clouds, there comes a time when we look back.
We look back to see the bottom of the path winding up through the trees, and see how far we've come.
Then we look up towards the clouds. As we climb higher we become ever more exposed.
Now there are not only potential boulders to climb over but slippery ridges ahead.
We must use all our strength to keep going and keep from backsliding, for we do not wish to end up rolling down the mountain to our sure demise.
Now there is the potential for lightning to strike us down, or fog to cloud our senses, but we carry on.
It certainly doesn't get any easier...

As we continue on the path we may climb higher than some of those clouds, and higher than some of those obstacles in our way. But we are ever more exposed.
Now there may be icy glaciers which stretch for miles in all directions, and we thought it was slippery before...
It gets chillier and windier as we continue.
Now we begin to doubt as it gets tougher and tougher.
Sometimes we might think about rolling down mountain.
But if we are lucky, or rather if fate allows, we are able to continue towards the pinnacle of existence.

There it lies above the clouds in the air so thin.
There it lies above the slippery ridges and the icy glaciers. Our destination.
If we are chosen, we are given the perseverance to climb over the boulders, and continue through the icy winds in our exposed state.
As the path gets narrower and more difficult to follow we may find peace rocks along the way to guide us and show us the way.
It is not me that climbs that mountain.
It is not you that climbs that mountain, but something greater than the sum of the both of us.
We may doubt, but if we ask we are given the faith to climb the tallest peaks, and scramble over the biggest boulders.

I doubt and so do all of us. That is what makes us human.
But hope in a better future and perseverance to the end are what guide us and allow us to come together and keep each other from slipping and rolling down that mountain.
The air may be thin up there above the clouds, but it makes us breath deeper.
It makes our hearts stronger.
Even those mountains do not last eternally.
They are pushed up by great forces for millions of years, only to crumble over time.
While they are there, they are meant to be climbed.
It is human nature to challenge one's self, but not alone.
Once we reach the top together with the sum of each others hopes and dreams, we become one again in the bright light above the clouds and we can all look back and see how far we've come, and how strong our hope has become. For we can not climb life's winding path alone.
